Post-treatment Instructions
General Skin Care
The treated area will be raw and pink for approximately five days. Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the area.
Apply a thin layer of ointment to the treated area several times a day to keep the area constantly moist. It is advised to keep the area covered with a bandaid.
Do not wash or immerse the treated area in water for at least one week. Keep the area clean and avoid exposure to dirt or dust.
A broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater should be generously and frequently applied to the treated areas at all times. Avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 8 weeks after treatment.
After about five days, the area will be smooth and pink. You may now cleanse the skin with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil twice daily. Do not scrub heavily. Apply a light moisturizer such as Cetaphil after cleansing.
After about five days, when the area becomes smooth and pink, make up may be applied. This pinkness will resolve over several weeks.
In case of signs of infection (pus, tenderness, fever), contact the office immediately.
Post-treatment skin care instructions must be followed to prevent any complications.
