Instructions for Soft Tissue Fillers
Before:
Avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, and high doses of Vitamin E for one week prior to treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
Please advise us if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores or fever blisters, as there are medications available to reduce the chance of an outbreak due to needle punctures.
After:
Cold compresses may be used immediately after to reduce swelling.
Avoid touching the treated area within six hours following treatment so as not to accidentally injure the skin while the area is numb. After this time, the area can be gently cleansed with soap and water.
Until redness or swelling has disappeared, avoid exposure of the treated area to intense heat such as a sun lamp or sunbathing.
Avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, and high doses of Vitamin E for one week after treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
Avoid laying flat for 2 to 3 days and nights. This will help prevent or reduce swelling. Resting and sleeping in a recliner chair is preferred. If you do not have a recliner chair, prop your head and shoulders upright with many pillows.
To improve your healing time after treatments, oral supplementation with 500mg of vitamin C (in the form of ascorbic acid) and Arnica montana tablets two to three times daily is recommended.
